[THE INVESTOR] Korean exports to 52 countries with which it has signed free trade agreements made up 72.6 percent of total shipments in the January-September period, a local trade agency said on Oct. 30.
In the nine-month period, the country’s exports to FTA partners were valued at US$312.3 billion out of US$430.2 billion shipped overall, according to data from the Korea International Trade Association.
The ratio of exports to the FTA partner nations was higher than the 70.7 percent marked in the same nine-month period of last year, meaning the country‘s higher dependence on FTA partners, the data showed.
When it comes to the pace of growth in exports to the 52 countries, they jumped 21.7 percent in the first nine months compared with the previous year, it said.
