[THE INVESTOR] Samsung Electronics announced on Nov. 2 the second round of personnel reshuffling of its top brass.

The company said former unit chiefs, Kwon Oh-hyu, Yoon Boo-keun, and Shin Jong-kyun -- who were outed in the first round earlier this week -- will not be involved in the firm’s daily operations, but remain at the tech giant as advisers.

Kwon, who headed the components division will serve as the chairman of Samsung’s R&D unit Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology while Yoon and Shin, who used to lead the home appliances and mobile units, will be in charge of corporate relations and human resources development, respectively.

The tech giant also announced the promotion of seven executive vice presidents.

They are CEO of Samsung Electronics America Tim Baxter, head of memory business Jin Gyo-young, System LSI head Kang In-yup, foundry business head Jung Eun-seung, CFO Han Jong-hee and Hwang Deuk-kyu, who will lead the firm’s Chinese branch.

Kim Ki-nam, Kim Hyun-suk, and Koh Dong-jin, who were named to head the divisions of components, consumer electronics, and mobile divisions, respectively, on Oct.31, will concurrently serve as the CEOs at SAIT, digital appliance business, and mobile communications business -- a subdivision of the handset business unit.

“With today’s announcement, Samsung Electronics has completed its leadership change. The new team will accelerate the pace of innovation and address the increasingly complex demands of the connected world, keeping the firm on its growth trajectory,” the company said in a statement.

Other Samsung affiliates also announced promotions on the same day.

Samsung Display named Lee Dong-hoon, who has been newly promoted to president, as the company’s new CEO, while IT solutions firm Samsung SDS tapped its solutions business chief Hong Won-pyo as new CEO.

Jun Yong-bae, former executive vice president of Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, has been named as the chief of Samsung Ventures.
