[THE INVESTOR] Shinsegae Department Store, a major retailer here, said on Dec. 21 it will open a flagship store for its cosmetics select shop CHICOR in Seoul this week.

The store, set to open in the affluent Gangnam district, will have items from some 250 brands, ranging from skin care to color cosmetics, hair and men‘s products, the department store operator said.

It marks the first time that a cosmetics select shop will open outside of a department store, the company said.

Launched in December 2016, CHICOR is currently operating at four of Shinsegae’s department stores: one each in Daegu, Seoul, Busan and Gwangju.

“We hope our first flagship store will become the landmark for K-beauty in the Gangnam area,” a senior company official said.
