[THE INVESTOR] Hyundai Motor on Jan. 29 added the diesel-powered G80 sedan to the independent Genesis lineup as part of its efforts to compete with luxury import brands.
The G80 diesel sedan, which satisfies the latest European emissions standard, Euro 6, is on sale domestically as of this week, Hyundai said in a statement.
Hyundai produces the luxury Genesis models under an independent marque separate from other vehicles.
The new model is priced between 51.7 million won (US$48,600) to 57 million won depending on features, the statement said.
The Genesis lineup is currently composed of the G70, G80 and G90 sedans. The G90 sedan is also called EQ900 in Korea.
