Studio Dragon’s earnings in the first quarter will be a record high due to its hit dramas, said eBEST Investment and Securities on Feb. 13.
The number of dramas produced in the period have risen to six, up more than 30 percent, and ratings have significantly improved from the previous quarter, said analyst Kim Hyeon-yong.
More than one-third of dramas are thought to have been sold to Netflix and the revenue will be reflected as well, according to the analyst who estimated that revenue will rise 21.7 percent on-year to 91.6 billion won and operating profit will hike 36.4 percent to record 19.1 billion won.
The production company will be able to generate more dramas per quarter as it releases a series of likely hits, he added.
