[THE INVESTOR] Hyundai Rotem, the train manufacturing unit of Hyundai Motor Group, said on Feb. 26 it received a 62 billion-won (US$58 million) subway order in Canada.
Hyundai Rotem won the order from the Translink, the transportation department of Vancouver, to build 24 unmanned subway cars by 2020, the company said in a statement.
The subway cars will be produced at the company’s domestic plant with the delivery scheduled by the end of 2020. They will be used on the 18.5-kilometer Richmond Airport Vancouver Line, it said.
