[THE INVESTOR] Cyworld, a Korean social media operator, said on March 19 it has released a news service dubbed “QUE,” which will be connected to Samsung Electronics’ voice assistant program later this month.

Cyworld was the nation‘s most beloved social media until it almost collapsed due to the rise of foreign services, including Twitter and Facebook. The service is seeking revitalization after receiving funds from Samsung Venture Investment, a Samsung firm dedicated to investment in startups last year.

QUE will provide users with optimized news services based on artificial intelligence technology.

“Quality contents from the media have not been properly delivered to users in the mobile environment,” Cyworld said. “It is our goal to deliver news contents optimized for the mobile era to users.”

QUE is available for Google Play and Samsung Galaxy Apps. The company said it will also connect to Samsung Electronics Co.’s voice-assistant program Bixby, which will be installed in the Galaxy S8 and beyond later this month.
