[THE INVESTOR] Korean security software provider AhnLab said on April 17 it has forged a partnership with Seoul National University Bundang Hospital for research on digital health care.

Under the memorandum of understanding they signed on April 9, the two parties will cooperate in comprehensive studies on the Internet of Medical Things, blockchain-based digital health care innovations and personal health data management.

“Health care is an important sector directly linked to the user. With this MOU, AhnLab, an expert in software development and SNU Bundang Hospital which specializes in the medical field, will continue research on new health care services,” AhnLab CEO Gwon Chi-jung said.

The move is expected to reinforce the tertiary hospital’s drive to popularize its health information system overseas.

On April 6, SNU Bundang Hospital signed a US$5 million contract to export its software system, which includes digital storing and data processing of patient records and administrative processes, to the Clemenceau Medical Center at Dubai Healthcare City in the United Arab Emirates.
