[THE INVESTOR] Renault Samsung Motors and GM Korea will voluntarily recall more than 100,000 vehicles to fix faulty parts, the Transport Ministry said on May 3.

It is the latest in a series of recalls by carmakers and importers to ensure their vehicles meet current safety rules.

The two automakers plan to recall two different models totaling 104,621 vehicles. The models are Renault Samsung’s SM6 midsize sedan and the Cadillac STS (Seville Touring Sedan) imported by GM Korea for local sales, the ministry said in a statement.

The problems include the malfunctioning braking system in the SM6 sedan and faulty rear suspension two-link system in the Cadillac STS sedan, the statement said.

Vehicle owners can visit designated repair and service centers to have the parts replaced free of charge, it said.
