[THE INVESTOR] LG Electronics said on May 17 its recently introduced flagship smartphone G7 ThinQ will hit shelves this week in Korea, with the global launch also planned soon.

The tech giant said the G7 ThinQ will be sold through the country’s three mobile carriers, along with unlocked editions at electronics shops starting May 18. The company started to accept preorders last week.

Available in three colors, blue, black and red, the 64GB LG G7 ThinQ comes with a price tag of 898,700 won (US$830), with that of the 128-GB LG G7 ThinQ Plus version reaching 976,800 won. The versions come with 4 GB and 6 GB of RAM, respectively.

The company said it plans to purchase used smartphones from buyers of the LG G7 ThinQ for up to 185,000 won. LG claimed it will compensate users 100 million won in case personal data is leaked from the used handsets.

“The LG G7 ThinQ, which upgraded basic features used frequently by all users, will provide people with a new level of convenience,” LG said.
