[THE INVESTOR] Samsung Electronics said on Aug. 27 its market share for premium washers in the Polish market grew twofold in the second quarter of 2018 compared to a year earlier.

The Korean tech giant said it took up 60 percent of the Polish market for washers priced 700 euros (US$814) and above for the April-June period of 2018, up from 30 percent posted in the same period a year earlier.

Samsung first entered the Polish market in 2006, and opened its European production line for home appliances in the country in 2010.

The line currently serves as the hub for the production of Samsung’s refrigerators and washers sold in Europe.

The company added that is has been maintaining a market share above 30 percent for refrigerators in Poland since 2012.

Samsung said it is also operating a special showroom named “Cook Story by Samsung” to promote its premium built-in products to Polish consumers in the capital city of Warsaw.
