GM Korea said on Nov. 13 it will launch an upgraded Malibu sedan in the domestic market later this month.

The face-lifted Chevrolet midsize passenger car will be powered by either a gasoline or diesel engine and will go on sale on Nov. 26, the company said in a statement.

Currently, three versions of the Malibu sedan are available with a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, a 1.8-liter gasoline hybrid engine or a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine in global markets, a company spokeswoman said.

Details about the upgraded Malibu will be released on the planned launching day, she said.

From January to October, GM Korea sold a total of 413,199 vehicles, down 13 percent from 476,601 units a year earlier. Its Chevrolet lineup consists of the Spark, Damas and Labo mini cars; Malibu midsize sedan; Trax compact sport utility vehicle; Equinox SUV; Bolt all-electric car; and Volt plug-in hybrid car.
