[THE INVESTOR] Korean shares ended higher on Nov. 29 as foreigners increased their stock purchases after sharp overnight gains on Wall Street. The won rose against the US dollar.
The benchmark KOSPI rose 5.88 points, or 0.28 percent, to 2,114.10. Trading volume was moderate at 300.49 million shares worth 5.12 trillion won (US$4.60 billion), with winners outnumbering losers 456 to 365.
Foreigners bought a net 325 billion won worth of stocks, offsetting a combined net selling of 326 billion won worth of stocks by institutions and individuals.
The won closed at 1,119.20 won against the US dollar, up 7.30 won from the previous session’s close.
