[THE INVESTOR] MAN Truck & Bus Korea and Daimler Trucks Korea will voluntarily recall over 3,000 trucks and tractors to repair faulty components, the Transport Ministry said on Dec. 17.
This is the latest in a series of recall orders issued by the ministry to both domestic and foreign carmakers.
The German truck companies plan to recall tractors, dump and cargo trucks totaling 3,074 units, the ministry said in a statement.
The problems are a faulty powertrain control system in 1,195 dump trucks and 1,176 cargo trucks and tractors made by MAN, and a faulty gearing system in 703 Daimler dump trucks, it said.
Vehicle owners can visit designated repair and service centers to replace the parts free of charge, it said.
