[THE INVESTOR] Kia Motors announced on Jan. 3. that it has formed a partnership with YG Entertainment to expand its global cultural marketing combined with K-pop.
As its first project, the carmaker will be the title sponsor of “Blackpink World Tour with Kia,” which will be held in seven Asian cities -- Bangkok, Jakarta, Hong Kong, Manila, Singapore, Kula Lumpur and Taipei -- starting this month.
During the World Tour, it intends to support the members with Kia vehicles for transport and to meet fans through a special promotional video featuring Stinger, the first model in its premium lineup.
A separate exhibition area will be set up outside the concert venue to display Kia’s representative lineup such as Stinger and Soul, and provide unique entertainment that suits each city’s atmosphere.
“We will continue to join hands with Korea’s leading entertainment companies and K-pop artists for promotion purposes,” said a Kia official, adding that it will contribute to globalization by making opportunities to experience its young and dynamic brand.
