KT said on Feb. 19 it will showcase its multi-player virtual reality sports game during the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
During the world’s largest mobile show, KT will unveil a VR baseball game that supports several players simultaneously and offers users an enjoyable immersive game experience via GiGA Live TV. GiGA Live is a wireless network-based media service that does not require separate terminals, such as a smartphone.
Starting with the baseball game, the company said it will speed up development of its VR sports content to get a chunk of the growing VR game market.
According to the industry tracker Market Research Future, the global VR gaming market is expected to reach approximately US$14.6 billion by the end of 2023, with a compound growth rate of 30 percent from 2017-2023.
