Samsung Electronics topped the global commercial display market with a quarter share in 2018, continuing its lead for the 10th consecutive year, a market report showed on March 18.
According to industry tracker IHS Markit, the South Korean tech giant’s commercial display products accounted for 25.8 percent of the global total last year.
Samsung provides a wide range of commercial displays, including digital signage, outdoor billboards and wall-mounted screens, targeting the growing display segment.
The company offers a smart whiteboard solution for workplaces called the Samsung Flip, as well as semi-outdoor signage with double-sided screens, each side adjusted for the environment in which it is utilized.
It showcased its 82-inch, 8K-resolution QLED display utilizing proprietary quantum dot technology at Integrated Systems Europe, the industry’s largest show, in February.
It also exhibited a gigantic 219-inch TV, called The Wall, based on its microLED technology at this year‘s Consumer Electronics Show and showcased its immersive Cinema LED Screen in a movie theater in China last year.
