[THE INVESTOR] Renault Samsung Motors announced on Nov. 2 that it will showcase its latest electric vehicle SM3 ZE, which can run up to 213 km on a single charge, this month.

The travelling distance of the new SM3 ZE has increased from 135 km and according to the automaker, it is the longest range among locally produced midsized electric cars due to an increase in battery capacity to 35.9 kWh -- 63 percent higher than before without increasing the weight.

The new model’s exterior has also been upgraded with thick chrome lines and a glossy black radiator grill. The body color is new with four color options that include urban gray, solid white, ultra silver and cloud pearl.

The interior has added luxury with an all-bristled pattern grain and black matte paint, and the leather seat design has also been improved

In addition, Renault Samsung has changed its warranty conditions from 70 percent battery capacity within seven years or less than 140,000 km to eight years or 160,000 km.

The price of the 2018 SM3 ZE will be revealed at Daegu EV Expo on Nov. 23.
