[THE INVESTOR] Kia Motors on April 26 began sales of its upgraded 2019 Sorento sport utility vehicle The Master which offers more powertrain choices and advanced safety features.

The smooth eight-speed automatic transmission, available on 2.2 diesel and 2.0-liter turbo gasoline engines, has been newly fitted on a 2.0 diesel engine as well. Top safety features on the vehicle include highway driving assist, blind spot collision avoidance assist, rear cross traffic collision avoidance assist, forward collision avoidance assist, rear occupant alert and a seat belt reminder alarm system.

The Master’s 2.0 diesel version is priced between 28.4 million (US$26,235) and 35.8 million won depending on options, while the 2.2 diesel model sells for between 28.9 million and 36.3 million won. The 2.0-liter turbo gasoline model ranges between 28.4 million and 30.6 million won.

“We strengthened the sturdy and dynamic commercial elements of the brand to match the reputation of Sorento as the representative model of a midsized SUV,” an official at Kia said.
