Lippo General Insurance, the Indonesian subsidiary of Hanwha General Insurance, posted record first-half earnings, extending its record-breaking run for a second straight year.
The Jakarta-based insurer recorded revenue of 2.32 trillion rupiah ($131 million) in the January-June period, up 33.9 percent from 1.73 trillion rupiah a year earlier. Pretax profit rose 10.2 percent to 130.5 billion rupiah from 118.5 billion rupiah.
Both revenue and pretax profit reached record highs for a half-year period, the company said.
The insurer's equity also rose to 1.12 trillion rupiah from 987 billion rupiah a year earlier, further strengthening its capital base.
"Our record performance in 2025 has continued into 2026," LGI President Director Agus Benjamin said. "With the support of Hanwha Insurance, disciplined underwriting and a strong balance sheet, we remain confident of delivering another record year."
The results also hold significance for Hanwha Insurance, as this year marks the first full year since the Korean insurer became LGI's largest shareholder.
Hanwha Insurance first entered the Indonesian insurer in 2023, when it acquired a 14.9 percent stake alongside PT Hanwha Life Insurance Indonesia's 47.7 percent stake.
Hanwha Insurance acquired an additional 46.6 percent stake in December last year, raising its ownership to 61.5 percent and turning LGI from an associate into a consolidated subsidiary.
In turn, LGI's growth strengthens Hanwha Insurance's foothold in Indonesia as the Korean insurer expands its overseas general insurance business.
LGI added that AM Best renewed its A- financial strength rating on Wednesday. The "Excellent" rating reflects the insurer's financial strength and ability to meet policyholder obligations.
