South Korea’s MetLife Insurance unit said Oct. 30 that it has signed memoranda of understanding with domestic startups dedicated to health care technologies to enhance its end-to-end health care solution 360Health launched in April.

The startups include Deep Medi, which develops a mobile app to optically measure blood pressure with camera; Dr.Kitchen, dedicated to making low-sodium meals for diabetics; and DoingLAB, which develops a food image recognition technology for users’ dietary assessment.

The signing ceremony for the strategic partnership was held at Google Startup Campus in Seoul, followed by a workshop. The event was attended by MetLife Korea officials including Senior Vice President Song Young-rok and the startups, as well as representatives of other domestic health care startups Mono Labs, 300Fit, Genoplan and Mediage.

MetLife Korea said the event was aimed at honing cutting-edge health care solutions for 360Health, whose mobile app is poised to be launched by early 2020.
